Uckfield Business Awards 2014: Recognising excellence in the town

Preparations are well underway for the Uckfield Business Awards 2014 – organised to celebrate the achievements and diversity of the East Sussex town’s business community. With backing from Uckfield Chamber of Commerce and support from Uckfield FM, the 2014 Awards are being co-ordinated by Neil Edwards from The Marketing Eye, Adrian Corbin from Scientifica and Gary King of Uckfield FM.

These are the second such awards, following the success of the inaugural event in 2012. Once again, there are Award categories to suit every type of business in Uckfield, big or small. These range from Best Rural Business and Best Looking Shop, to Tradesperson of the Year and Customer Service Award. The highlight of the Awards evening – which is being held at the East Sussex National on Thursday 6 November – will be the presentation of Business of the Year and the Outstanding Achievement Award.

The inaugural winner of Business of the Year was Challenge Packaging, while High Street jeweller, George Moss, picked up the Customer Service Award.

“Winning the award was a great accolade for us and something we’ve utilised in all our marketing materials ever since,” says Robert Suckling from George Moss. “To be recognised by our customers in this way was really thrilling and it’s encouraged us to keep customer service at the forefront of everything we do.”

The Uckfield Business Awards are to be officially launched at a reception being held at the East Sussex National in February.

The Awards programme is only made possible by the support of local organisations. If you would like to sponsor the 2014 awards and benefit from the wide ranging media attention and marketing opportunities this will bring, contact Neil Edwards at The Marketing Eye on: neil@themarketingeye.com

“The response to the inaugural Uckfield Business Awards from the business community and the public alike was overwhelming – so we are feeling extremely positive about the 2014 programme,” says Neil Edwards. “Last time around, applications were received from nearly 100 businesses and there were more than 450 votes from members of the public, all eager to recognise and endorse their favourite local companies.”
